2Checkout, or 2CO for short, provides turnkey e-commerce solutions to businesses around the world. In 2007, 2CO facilitated over 220 million in sales from over 2 million buyers worldwide. 2CO was established in 1999 and its headquarters is located in Columbus, Ohio.

 

2Chekout operates in a unique way – when you sign up, you add the products/services you sell into their database and then add the buy buttons that are automatically created to your website. When a buyer clicks on the links, they are redirected to 2CO who handle the sale – you are contracted as the supplier to fulfill the sale and they deposit the payment for the sale into your account minus their commission.

 

(You do not need a merchant account with 2Checkout – sales are deposited into their account and then transferred to yours)

 

This could be ideal for a smaller merchant, but some may wish to keep the customer at their own website in order to have more control over the checkout/payment process.
